Solicitor & General Counsel
Dr Dmitry Gololobov is an experienced Russian advocate as well as a solicitor of England and Wales and a legal scholar. He has three master’s degrees as well as two PhDs spanning both countries. From 1995 to 2003 Dmitry served as Russia Deputy General Counsel for the Russian oil and gas company Yukos. In 2003 he became General Counsel for Yukos and served in this capacity until 2004. Dmitry witnessed Yukos grow to become one of the largest and most successful Russian companies of the early 2000s and advised the company on the claims brought against it by the Russian government.
He moved to the UK in 2005 to pursue LLMs at the University of Westminster, London School of Economics, and University College London as well as a PhD at Queen Mary College. Currently Dmitry is a Principal at Gololobov & Co, a UK based Russian Legal Advisor, as well as a visiting Professor and Research Fellow at the University of Westminster. His areas of expertise include Corporate Law, CIS Financial & Corporate Crime, and Corporate Conflicts. He has authored many publications across Russia, the UK, and the USA and reports on Russian economic crime at the annual Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime.
